The company was founded in Berlin in 1920, and its head office has been located in Stadtallendorf since the 1950s. Today, Herbert Schümann GmbH is considered one of the leading manufacturers of packaging tape for cardboard packaging, plastic bags, refuse sacks and the security labels that protect products. In the area of wood processing and the furniture industry, Schümann has made a name for itself as a provider of veneer adhesives for the production of real wood veneers.

Schümann also offers a range of additional services above and beyond its range of products: application advice, customer-specific product optimisation, a printing service as well as the provision of dispensers and semi-automatic application equipment.
